Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions employers actually ask.

Do you act for employees too?

No. We act only for employers. That keeps us free of conflicts of interest and lets us focus entirely on the employer's side of employment law.

What does it cost?

Monthly plans start at £199 per month, banded by headcount. Project work and tribunal cases are quoted as fixed or staged fees before work begins. You will never receive a bill you didn't approve in advance.

We already have an HR person. Is this still for us?

Often, yes. Many clients have capable HR administrators who need senior back-up for disciplinaries, grievances, restructures and tribunal claims. We work alongside your people, not instead of them.

What happens in the free consultation?

Thirty minutes, by phone or video. You describe the situation; we tell you where you stand, what your options are, and — if you'd like our help — exactly what it would cost. There's no obligation and no follow-up pressure.

How quickly can you respond to an urgent problem?

Plan clients get a response the same working day for urgent matters — for example, a walkout, an allegation requiring immediate suspension, or a tribunal deadline. Tell us it's urgent and it's treated that way.

Are your services covered by legal privilege?

Advice from a consultancy is not protected by legal advice privilege in the way advice from a solicitor is, and in some circumstances correspondence could be disclosable in proceedings. We're upfront about this because it occasionally matters — and when it does, it's one of the situations where we'll recommend involving a solicitor, and can refer you to one.

Do you handle settlement agreements?

We negotiate settlement terms on the employer's behalf. The law requires the employee to receive advice on the agreement from their own relevant independent adviser (such as a qualified solicitor) before it's binding — we can point departing employees to independent advisers so the process runs smoothly.

Which areas do you cover?

We're based in Glasgow and work with employers across Scotland, in person and remotely.
